The induction day was the perfect opportunity for our newest team members to learn more about the vital role of volunteering within our health service, gain insights into Grampians Health, and understand the impact they’ll have on the lives of patients, families, and staff.

Throughout the day, volunteers completed all mandatory training requirements and participated in a range of engaging sessions. These included learning about the Base Hospital Redevelopment, exploring the importance of active listening, understanding empathy versus sympathy, and receiving hands-on training in safe wheelchair handling.

Most importantly, they were warmly welcomed into a well-supported team that makes a difference every single day.
